Assessment of the environmental effects of the water transfer system from the Karun catchment (Behesht Abad) to Zayandeh Rood (dam report)

The purpose of constructing the Behesht Abad Dam is to supply the drinking water shortage of a part of Isfahan province from the Behesht Abad catchment area. With the use of this project, the drinking water shortage of 14 cities in Isfahan province will be provided. In this plan, two location options for dam construction in Sangwil Strait and Dozadeh Imam areas have been examined in terms of economic, environmental and technical issues. In order to determine the priority of the best place to build this dam, two options using the matrix
ICOLD has been evaluated.
Also, by using the VIKOR method, these location options were analyzed during the definition of different scenarios, and finally, the option of Twelve Imams was determined as the best location option for the construction of the Beheshtabad dam project.
